The Baker County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit is comprised of two deputy sheriff/K-9 teams. Deputy Darrin Whitaker is partnered with Zeus, a German Shepard trained in the detection of several types of drugs and narcotics and has been successfully used in numerous drug interdiction cases. In addition, Zeus is trained in suspect apprehension and crowd control. Deputy Ben Anderson is partnered with Remington, a Labrador trained in drug detection. When you see our K-9 officers on patrol, or conducting a demonstration, you will know that Baker County has one of the most qualified K-9 teams in the State of Florida. The Baker County Sheriff's Office is very proud of its K-9 team and the unit is available for demonstrations to civic groups and special events upon request. We require a two week notice for scheduling, as our K-9 unit is a specialized team. Availability is dependent on law enforcement demands. For more information on availability contact Chief Gerald Gonzalez via email or by calling the Sheriff's Office at (904) 259-2231.
